چکیده

Abstract The population density of dwarf galaxies in low-density voids is likely determined by the dark matter halo mass function and how galaxy formation proceeds smaller halos. This depends on nature itself, making a tracer its properties. While dwarfs have been found smaller, closer voids, they proven difficult to find larger, more distant through magnitude-limited spectroscopic surveys. because these surveys detect an overwhelmingly large number objects behind that must be verified spectroscopically, void prohibitively inefficient expensive terms large-telescope time. Narrowband imaging for emission lines such as H α reduces background objects, although overall remains large. If done filter set with overlapping transmission wings, then object redshift can estimated from photometry alone. precision possible order magnitude greater than single-band photometry, caveat captured line identified other means. HI observations of dwarf galaxies in voids ?

We report HI-observations of a sample of 43 optically selected galaxies from the Heidelberg-void project. Only emission line galaxies have been selected. The HI-detection rate was 67%. The observed sample is a mix in late-type morphology objects with a spread in luminosity. They were compared to other samples with similar selection effects and mixtures. The detected galaxies have a high HI cont...

H I observations of emission - line galaxies

We present single-dish Lovell telescope H i observations of a sample of 67 emission-line and UV-excess galaxies, of which 52 are taken from the University of Michigan (UM) catalogue. In addition, H i observations of 24 gas-rich irregular galaxies are presented. We find that emission-line galaxies are H i–rich with a median H i mass to blue luminosity ratio MHI /LB of ∼ 0.45 M /L . Within the UM...

Emission Line Galaxies in the STIS Parallel Survey I: Observations and Data Analysis

In the first three years of operation STIS obtained slitless spectra of ∼ 2500 fields in parallel to prime HST observations as part of the STIS Parallel Survey (SPS). The archive contains ∼ 300 fields at high galactic latitude (|b| > 30) with spectroscopic exposure times greater than 3000 seconds. This sample contains 220 fields (excluding special regions and requiring a consistent grating angl...

Studies of galaxies in voids I . H i observations of Blue Compact Galaxies

We present here results of studies of the properties of galaxies located in very low density environments. We observed 26 blue compact galaxies (BCGs) from the Second Byurakan (SBS) and Case surveys located in voids with the radial velocities V hel 11000 km s −1 , two BCGs in the void behind the Virgo cluster and 11 BCGs in denser environments. H i fluxes and profile widths, as well as estimate...

Fabry-Perot Survey of Emission-Line Galaxies

The recent results from a deep Fabry-Perot survey of nearby active and star-forming galaxies are presented. Line-emitting material is detected over two orders of magnitude in galactocentric radius, from the 100-pc scale of the active or starbursting nucleus out to several 10s of kpc, sometimes well beyond the optical confines of the host galaxies. The excitation and dynamical properties of the ...
